What exactly is stump grinding?
Stump grinding uses a rotating cutting wheel to mechanically shred the stump and surface roots several inches below ground level. The result is a shallow bed of wood chips where the stump used to be - no tripping hazard, no mower obstacle, and nothing for pests to nest in.
Will the stump regrow after grinding?
No. Grinding destroys the cambium layer that would be needed for regrowth. The remaining roots below the grind depth will slowly decay underground over several years but will not resprout in the vast majority of tree species.
How do I prepare my yard before the crew arrives?
Clear any loose debris from around the stump, and let us know about narrow gates or access constraints when you request your quote so we can confirm equipment fit in advance. Utility marking is handled on our end before every job.
